Virat Kohli dropped a straightforward catch that left Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) spinner Suyash Sharma visibly frustrated during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 13 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

On the final delivery of the 17th over, Dhruv Jurel lofted a flighted ball from Suyash straight to long-off. It was a regulation chance for Kohli, but he failed to hold on as the ball slipped out of his grasp. Suyash couldn’t hide his disappointment, and Kohli himself looked apologetic after the missed opportunity. Netizens were up in arms on social media after the dropped catch, with some even questioning Kohli’s age and reflexes.

Earlier in the match, Kohli had taken a sharp catch to dismiss Riyan Parag. However, the dropped chance proved costly, as Jurel capitalized and guided Rajasthan to a strong finish. He remained unbeaten on 35 off 23 balls, striking two fours and two sixes.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s composed half-century, combined with Jurel’s late blitz, helped Rajasthan Royals post a competitive 173/4 in their 20 overs.

RCB managed to chased down the total with ease, cruising to a dominant 9-wicket win. Phil Salt (65 off 33), Virat Kohli (62*), and Devdutt Padikkal (40*) ensured the RR bowlers never got a foothold. The win keeps RCB's unbeaten record away from home. Salt was named Player of the Match for his explosive knock.
