Gujarat Titans (GT) were defeated by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Batting first the away side managed to score 180/6 in the first innings. The star performers with the bat for GT were openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, who both slammed half-centuries. The duo together created history for their franchise in the first innings.
Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan put on 120 for the opening wicket in 73 balls, thus registering the first century opening partnership of the season by any team. This is the fifth time that the duo have put on a century partnership in IPL history. They have thus become the first Gujarat Titans duo to slam 5 century partnerships in IPL history.

Shubman Gill got out after scoring 60 from 38 balls. Sai Sudharsan also managed to 56 from 37. However, a late collapse from the GT batters helped LSG restrict them to 180 in their 20 overs. Shardul Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi were the pick of the LSG bowlers as they both took two wickets each.
Chasing a modest score, LSG pulled it off with three balls and 5 wickets remaining. Nicholas Pooran once again stole the show with a 34-ball 61. On the other hand, Aiden Markram also scored 58 from 31 balls. LSG thus won their fourth game of the season and jumped to third in the points table.
