Rishabh Pant's Animated Reaction With Zaheer Khan Goes Viral: Watch (Source: BCCI/IPL)
Against the Mumbai Indians, captain Rishabh Pant of the Lucknow Super Giants was removed for just four runs, continuing his terrible IPL 2025 run of form. But following his most recent setback, it was LSG coach Zaheer Khan who initially came forward to comfort the faltering captain. Even though Pant struggled again in LSG's match against MI on April 27, it at least showed that he and Zaheer get along well.
Pant had the ideal opportunity to make amends when he came out to bat at number four during LSG's exhausting chase of 216 against MI. This followed the controversy surrounding their previous match against the Delhi Capitals, in which Pant was sent in as late as number seven, causing confusion and annoyance. Things between Pant and Zaheer Khan had become heated throughout the match.
However, Zaheer's quick action of giving Pant a pat on the leg in the dugout following his early departure served to allay rumours that the two were at odds. Similar to the DC match, Pant was dismissed in the MI match after trying to strike Will Jacks with a reverse sweep but giving Karn Sharma an easy.
Mumbai Indians hammered Rishabh Pant's Lucknow Super Giants by a massive margin of 54 runs. MI batting first posted 215/7 with the help of fifties from Ryan Rickelton (58 off 32) and Suryakumar Yadav (54 off 28 balls). Later Naman Dhir (25 off 11 balls) and Corbin Bosch (20 off 10 balls) also played crucial cameos.
Later, Jasprit Bumrah's four-fer and Trent Boult's three wickets walked through the LSG batting line-up. However, Will Jacks who dismissed Nicholas Pooran and Rishabh Pant and also scored 29 runs of 21 balls got Player of the Match for his all-round performance. MI have jumped to the second spot with this win and on the other hand, LSG are at the sixth spot
