Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will host Gujarat Titans (GT) in a vital game in the race to reach the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday (April 21). Both teams have won two of the last three editions of the league so far.

Hosts and defending champions KKR have so far had a middling season and come into the game on the back of a humiliating 16-run defeat to Punjab Kings (PBKS), where they failed to chase a total of 111 in Mullanpur. This was the lowest-ever total defended in IPL's history.

The Ajinkya Rahane-led side is seventh in the table as things stand with six points after seven games. They have won three matches in the 2025 IPL so far while losing four.

As far as GT is concerned, they have bounced back strongly after failing to reach the playoffs for the first time in history last year. The Titans are currently top of the table with five wins in seven matches. They are one of four teams to have 10 points on the board..

KKR and GT have faced each other four times in history, in which GT have won twice while KKR has one victory, which is the famous match in which Rinku Singh smashes five sixes in the last over. The sole scheduled match between the two sides last year was washed out due to rain in Ahmedabad.
