Arjun Tendulkar, son of India legend, is set to make his comeback for Goa. The Goa all-rounder will be in action in the plate group final of the Ranji Trophy against Nagaland. Goa dropped Arjun from the team during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. But he is their third-highest wicket-taker in the Ranji season.
Arjun has 16 wickets in 4 matches so far. He can breach the 20-wicket mark during the final. The final between Goa and Nagaland will be played from January 23 to 27 in Dimapur. Arjun will have a key role to play for Goa.
Arjun moved to Goa before the 2022/23 season. He had already played T20 cricket before joining Goa. He made a memorable Ranji Trophy debut and smashed a century against Rajasthan. Arjun has played 17 first-class, 18 List A and 24 T20s. Arjun has 37 wickets in red-ball cricket and 52 wickets in white-ball cricket.
Arjun to play for Mumbai Indians again
After the plate group Ranji Trophy final, Arjun will make his on-field return for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2025. The bowling all-rounder rejoined the Mumbai-based franchise in the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
He went unsold in the first round. MI bid for Arjun in the final few minutes of the mega-auction. Arjun started his IPL career with MI in 2021. He rejoined them for Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. Arjun made his much-awaited IPL debut in 2023. The 25-year-old will hope to get regular chances in IPL 2025.
Rohit Sharma to make Ranji Trophy return
Rohit Sharma will make his Ranji Trophy return after 10 years. The India Test and ODI captain will turn up for Mumbai in the home game against Jammu and Kashmir. Ajinkya Rahane will lead Mumbai. Rohit will open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
