Yashasvi Jaiswal IN; 6 Players OUT: Changes In India's Champions Trophy 2025 Squad From ODI World Cup 2023

India have announced their squad for the Champions Trophy 2025, with them beginning their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20. The last ICC 50-over tournament that India played was the ODI World Cup 2023, where they performed exceptionally well. They won 10 games on the trot, but lost the final of the tournament, ending as runners-up. A total of 6 players who featured in that squad is not in this Champions Trophy squad, while a number of players have made the cut.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant IN
A total of five players who were not part of the World Cup 2023 squad have made their way into the squad for the Champions Trophy 2025. Yashasvi Jaiswal is a major name who made his way into the squad. The star opener had made his mark in Tests and T20Is but is yet to make his ODI debut.
Rishabh Pant, who was injured due to the horrific car accident, remained out of the ODI World Cup 2023 squad He now returns in the squad for the Champions Trophy 2025. Axar Patel was named in the initial squad but was ruled out later due to injury. He now makes his way into the side. Washington Sundar is another name that comes into the side. Arshdeep Singh also comes into the squad.
Six Players Including Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav Out
Ishan Kishan was the backup wicketkeeper-batter in the side for the ODI World Cup 2023. He has since lost his central contract, and not made it into the Indian squad since. Suryakumar Yadav has lost his place in he ODI side, especially after his poor show in the World Cup 2023.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who was part of the squad in the ODI World Cup 2023, has retired from all forms of international cricket. Mohammed Siraj is a big name missing from the Champions Trophy 2025 squad, and had to miss out with India going with three pacer to Dubai. Prasidh Krishna was reported to be in contention for the squad, but missed out. Shardul Thakur has lost his place in the Indian team as a whole.
