India squad for the ICC Champions Trophy was revealed on Saturday. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar unveiled the squad in a press conference. The highlight of the squad was the inclusion of Jasprit Bumrah who was doubtful for the showpiece event due to a back injury he suffered in the fifth Test vs Australia. Bumrah was added to the squad, however, he is not certain to play and his availability will be subjected to fitness. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav were added to the squad, but Mohammed Siraj was dropped. With Shami back, the selectors opted to go in with Arshdeep Singh due to his variety. Yashasvi Jaiswal was given a maiden ODI call-up while KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer also made the list. Shubman Gill was named the vice-captain of the side.

India will begin their ICC Champions Trophy campaign against Bangladesh on February 20. They will play Pakistan on February 23 and New Zealand on March 2.

India's Likely XI vs Bangladesh

With Gill confirmed as vice-captain, he is certain to open with Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli will follow the openers at three. It will be a toss-up between Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul for the fourth position and Iyer is likely to get a nod. Rishabh Pant will bat at five, followed by Hardik Pandya. Ravindra Jadeja is picked in the squad, but Axar Patel is likely to play ahead of him. Washington Sundar should also be included in the XI given his all-round skills. He along with Axar will add a lot of depth to the batting. Kuldeep Yadav should be the specialist spinner, while Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh will be the pacers. Jasprit Bumrah is unlikely to play the first few games of the tournament.
