Punjab Kings (PBKS) are currently taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an exciting match in the IPL 2025 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. PBKS slammed 201/4 in the first innings, and it was mainly due to Prabsimran Singh, who smashed 83 from 49 balls in an innings studded with 6 fours and 6 sixes. With this innings, the right-handed opening batter managed to create history as an uncapped player.

Prabhsimran Singh has 1048 runs for Punjab Kings in the IPL. This is now the first time that an uncapped batter has scored more than 1000 runs for the franchise. He is the 10th batter overall to score 1000 runs for Punjab Kings in IPL history.

Prabhsimran also becomes the highest uncapped run-getter in the history of Punjab Kings. He went past Manan Vohra, who had slammed 957 runs for the franchise when he played there from IPL 2013 to 2017.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya got PBKS off to a good start as they stitched a century stand. Priyansh went on to slam a half-century. Andre Russell got the breakthrough for KKR as he took the wicket of Priyansh Arya for 69. Prabshmiran Singh continued the momentum as he too scored a half-century. He looked all set to slam a century, but departed against the run of play for 83 runs.

Glenn Maxwell continued his poor run of form as he departed to Varun Chakaravarthy after scoring just 7 runs. Vaibhav Arora got his second wicket of the night as he took the scalp of Marco Jansen. PBKS slammed 201/4 at the end of their 20 overs.

KKR could only play one over before the match, before rain lashed in the venue and halted play.
