Rohit Sharma returned to form and finally played a match-winning knock for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing IPL season. Rohit, who has been playing IPL 2025 as an Impact Player, slammed an unbeaten 76 off 45 balls against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as MI chased down the target of 177 in 15.4 overs at the loss of one wicket.

Apart from Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav also played a vital role in the win and remained unbeaten on 68 off 30 balls. The senior duo added 114 runs for the second wicket to take MI to their fourth win of the season.

Rohit achieved a huge milestone and went past Shikhar Dhawan in an elite list during his match-winning performance. The former MI captain celebrated his 17 years in IPL by overtaking Dhawan to become the second-highest run-scorer in IPL's history.

Rohit now has 6786 runs in 259 innings across 264 matches. Batting at an average of 29.63, Rohit has hit 2 centuries and 44 half-centuries. He has never won an Orange Cap in IPL.

Dhawan, who now sits at the third spot, finished his IPL career with 6769 runs in 221 innings across 222 matches. Dhawan retired from Indian cricket in August 2024. He played for multiple teams during his long IPL stint.

Virat Kohli, the only batsman to score more than 8000 runs in IPL, tops the list of batsmen with the most runs in the T20 league. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) legend has 8326 runs in 252 innings from 260 matches. Virat has 8 centuries and 59 half-centuries in the T20 league.

He left RCB's captaincy after IPL 2021 and is playing the ongoing season under Rajat Patidar's leadership. Virat has yet to win the elusive IPL trophy. Rohit is a six-time IPL winner, whereas Dhawan lifted the IPL title once with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016.
