MS Dhoni, CSK's 43-year-old skipper, showed extraordinary glove work in the 19th over of the first innings during the LSG vs CSK game on Monday. It all happened when Pathirana was bowling the last over, and Abdul Samad decided to rotate the strike on the wide ball that went directly to Dhoni's gloves. Rishabh Pant, who was at the non-striker's end, was quick off the blocks and reached the batter's end in quick time. The wily old Dhoni used his presence of mind and decided to run out the non-striker as he threw the ball over the batters head and hit the timber at the opposite end. The ball hit the bails while Samad was yet to reach the crease, and LSG lost their sixth wicket with the run out.

Just after the runout, Dhoni took another catch, ending the impactful knock of LSG's skipper Rishabh Pant. Dhoni looked impressive in the field as he dismissed three LSG players. Before that extraordinary runout, he dismissed Ayush Badoni with a stumping off Ravindra Jadeja.

Meanwhile, after winning the toss, Dhoni invited LSG to bat on their home ground. While LSG was losing wickets from one end, skipper Rishabh Pant was holding fort with resilience, on the slow surface of Lucknow. Pant scored 63 off 49 with four sixes. CSK is struggling at the bottom of the table as they have lost five consecutive games in the IPL. These defeats led the management to make some big changes as Devon Conway and Ravi Ashwin are missing this game, Jamie Overton is back in the squad and 20 year old Shaik Rasheed is also making his IPL debut.
