Virat Kohli continued his purple patch in IPL 2025 and slammed his third half-century of the season as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) chased down the target of 174 with 9 wickets in hand. Virat remained unbeaten on 62 off 45 balls. He and Phil Salt added 92 runs for the first wicket in 8.4 overs. Salt scored a quick 65 off 33 balls.
Virat and Devdutt Padikkal finished the chase in the 18th over. Padikkal remained unbeaten on 40 off 28 balls. After the game, Tim David decided to prank Virat and he took out one of his bats from his kit.
Virat quickly realised that one of his bats was missing and he found it in David's bag. The Australian wanted to check how much time Virat would take to realise that one of his bats wasn't in the kit bag. "I want to see how long it will take Virat to realise we have taken one of his bats," David said in the video shared on RCB's social media channels.
Virat has scored 248 runs in six matches and he sits at the fifth spot in the list of batsmen with the most runs in IPL 2025. As for RCB, they have won 4 out of their 6 matches and are at the third spot in the points table. RCB have won all their 4 away games and lost both their home games so far.
RCB, who have lost all their 3 IPL finals so far, will host Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their next game on April 18. They will then travel to Chandigarh to take on PBKS in their next game on April 20. RCB will return to Bengaluru to host Rajasthan Royals on April 24 and will then land in Delhi to take on Delhi Capitals on April 27 in an evening game.
