Virat Kohli left fans concerned during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) as he went towards Sanju Samson and asked him to check his heartbeat during his unbeaten knock.
The incident happened in the 15th over of RCB's run chase while Kohli was batting at 54. The ex-RCB skipper completed a quick double from Wanindhu Hasaranga's bowling. After completing the run, Kohli rushed towards the RR skipper, who was standing behind the wickets and asked to check his heartbeat.
Later, in the timeout, Kohli was spotted sitting and relaxing after an intense period of play where he was evidently out of play. Known for his high fitness standard, Kohli's struggle left fans worried.
For those unversed, the match was an afternoon match thatstarted at 3:30 PM IST and was played in Jaipur, which is among the hottest cities in India during the summer. The Indian cricket superstar was on the field for almost the entire duration of play as he opened the batting for RCB and was unbeaten till the Rajat Patidar-led side completed their nine-wicket victory with a knock of 62 in 44 balls. Earlier, he was fielding for 20 overs as RCB decided to bowl first after winning the toss.
Talking about the match, RR put up a total of 173 on the board with Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scoring with a knock of 75 in 47 balls while Riyan Parag (30 of 22) and Dhruv Jurel (35 of 23) gave him solid support.
While Kohli anchored the innings to perfection for RCB, it was Phil Salt who emerged as the star of the run-chase. The English opener gave his side a blitzing start with a knock of 65 in just 33 balls. Salt and Kohli put up a 92-run opening partnership in just 52 balls.
