Himmat Singh made his much-awaited IPL debut for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 26th match of IPL 2025. The right-handed batsman replaced Mitchell Marsh, who isn't playing the game to be with his unwell daughter. Himmat had been part of LSG's list of Impact Players and finally got to make his debut against GT. Here we know more about him -
Himmat Singh is a batsman from Delhi who represents the National Capital in domestic cricket. The 28-year-old made his domestic cricket debut in the 2015/16 Vijay Hazare Trophy. His first-class debut came two seasons later. Himmat played his maiden T20 in January 2018. He was a regular in Delhi's junior teams and led the state team in few competitions.
Himmat landed his maiden IPL contract with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for IPL 2019. He didn't get a chance and was released before the next season.
While he didn't get to play for RCB, Himmat established himself in Delhi state team and was appointed the captain of the Ranji Trophy team. Early in 2023, Himmat-led Delhi defeated Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy game after a gap of 43 years.
In 2024, Himmat captained East Delhi Riders to a title win in the inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL). His success in DPL landed him an IPL contract after 5 years and he has now made his debut in the T20 league.
Himmat has 1738 runs in 33 first-class matches. His tally includes 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries. He has scored 1858 runs in 55 List A matches at an average of 47.64. Himmat has 917 runs in 55 T20s.
He could be dropped again when Marsh makes his return to the playing XI. LSG have 3 wins from 5 matches in the ongoing season.
