Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) are facing Rishabh Pant's Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 26th match of IPL 2025. The fixture is being played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Shubman and Sai Sudharsan provided a dream start to GT in the away game and added 120 runs for the first wicket in 12.1 overs.
Shubman played a captain's knock and smashed 60 off just 38 balls before being dismissed. Sudharsan departed for a well-made 56 off 37 balls. Shubman hit 6 fours and six during his knock. Shubman created history and etched his name in record books during his 60-run knock against LSG.
Shubman Gill creates history
Shubman Gill created history and became the first batsman to score 2000 runs for Gujarat Titans in IPL. The former India U-19 vice-captain joined GT at the IPL 2022 pre-auction draft. GT also picked Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan before the auction.
Shubman scored 483 runs in 16 matches in IPL 2022. It was his best IPL performance since his debut in 2018. GT defeated Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 final to make a dream debut in IPL.
Shubman had a dream run in IPL 2023 and he piled up 890 runs at an average of 59.33. His tally included 3 centuries and 4 half-centuries. GT lost to Chennai Super Kings in the final.
Hardik Pandya's exit before IPL 2024 saw GT bestowing Shubman with captaincy. He scored 426 runs in 12 matches in 2024. He missed out on making it to the 2024 T20 World Cup squad.
Batsmen with most runs for Gujarat Titans
Shubman is followed by Sai Sudharsan, who has scored 1363 runs in 31 matches. Sudharsan has scored consistently for GT and has become their top batsman along with Shubman.

David Miller sits at the third spot. He scored 950 runs during his three-year stint with them. Miller is now part of the Lucknow Super Giants. He is followed by Hardik, who scored 833 runs. He now leads Mumbai Indians in the T20 league.
