Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are currently taking on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in an exciting encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. SRH have had a torrid season so far in the IPL 2025, losing four consecutive games. They continued their poor form as PBKS slammed 245/6 runs in the first innings. Their premier pacer Mohammed Shami had a terrible off day as he gave away too many runs. In fact, he created an embarrassing record with his expensive spell.
Mohammed Shami finished without a single wicket in his four overs. In fact, he gave away 75 runs in these four overs, with Marcus Stoinis hitting him for four consecutive sixes on the final four balls of his speall. He now becomes the Indian bowler with the most expensive figures in IPL history.

He is also the first Indian to give away 75 runs in his spell. Jofra Archer is the only other bowler who has given away 75 or more runs in a spell in IPL history. He is the second SRH bowler after Basil Thambi to give away 70 or more runs in four overs.

Punjab Kings got off to a flying start as Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh put on 50 runs for the opening wicket in just three overs. Arya departed after scoring a whirlwind 36 from 13 balls, with Harshal Patel finally ending his onslaught. Prabhsimran Singh departed for 43, as debutant Eshan Malinga got his maiden wicket. Shreyas Iyer then continued the momentum as he slammed his third fifty of the IPL 2025.
Nehal Wadhera was then dismissed for 27 as Eshan Malinga got his second wicket on debut. Harshal Patel then came back in to dismiss Shashank Singh. Glenn Maxwell's poor form in the IPL 2025 continued as he was dismissed for 3. Harshal Patel struck two balls later as he got the wicket of Shreyas Iyer, who scored 83 runs. Marcus Stonis then played a blinder of a knock slamming four sixes in the last four balls.
