Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are not having the best of times in the IPL 2025. They currently lie in the 7th position in the points table, with one win and two back-to-back losses in their three games of the tournament so far. While there have been questions raised on their squad, the five-time champions have called up young Ayush Mhatre, who will be with the squad for the remainder of the tournament.
According to a report by The Times of India, Ayush Mhatre has been selected by the Chennai Super Kings after mid-season trials. He went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction and will now travel with the CSK squad. However, he cannot be drafted into the official squad right now. It can only happen if a player on the squad is injured and ruled out for the remainder of the IPL 2025.
Ayush Mhatre joined the CSK squad from the India U-19 zonal camp in Rajkot.
