As the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine kicks off on the 27th of February, several prospects remain overlooked despite strong college performances. The combine will last till Sunday 2nd March.
With the draft set for April 25-27 in Detroit, these players will have the opportunity to boost their stock.
Quarterback: Dillon Gabriel, Oregon
Gabriel, one of the most productive quarterbacks in FBS history, has started 63 career games across UCF, Oklahoma, and Oregon. His experience and efficiency—averaging 9.2 yards per attempt in 2019—position him as a potential value pick despite concerns about his 5-foot-10 frame.
Running Back: Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Arizona
Limited to just one game in 2024 due to eligibility concerns, Croskey-Merritt impressed with 106 rushing yards on 13 carries. His 2023 film showcases quick footwork and breakaway speed, making him a sleeper at the position.
Wide Receiver: Kyle Williams, Washington State
Williams posted 70 receptions for 1,196 yards and 14 touchdowns in a breakout season. A strong showing at the combine could boost the 5-foot-10 receiver’s stock, given his reliable hands and sharp route-running.
Tight End: Harold Fannin Jr., Bowling Green
At 6-foot-3 and 238 pounds, Fannin is a versatile prospect who excelled as both a blocker and a receiver. His 1,555 receiving yards highlight his ability to create mismatches.
Offensive Line:
Defensive Tackle: C.J. West, Indiana
At 6-foot, 314 pounds, West uses his raw power to disrupt the run game, though his control and finishing ability require refinement.
Edge Rusher: David Walker, Central Arkansas
Walker’s explosiveness and leverage helped him dominate at the Senior Bowl. Despite being just 6 feet tall, his power rush proved difficult for linemen to handle.
Linebacker: Nick Martin, Oklahoma State
Martin’s 2024 season was cut short due to injury, but in 2023, he ranked fourth in the FBS with 66 stops. His speed and physical playstyle make him an intriguing late-round option.
Cornerback: Benjamin Morrison, Notre Dame
A standout early in his college career, Morrison recorded nine interceptions before a hip injury ended his 2024 campaign. His coverage ability and youth (20 years old) could attract NFL teams.
Safety: Kevin Winston Jr., Penn State
Winston partially tore his ACL in 2024 but previously showcased elite tackling and run support. His wingspan and physicality could help him transition to the next level.
With the NFL Scouting Combine set to begin, these prospects will aim to prove they deserve more recognition ahead of the draft.
