England vs Afghanistan clash in the 2025 Champions Trophy on Wednesday (February 26) became the third match of the ongoing tournament to see a century in both innings, as the high-scoring clash saw Ibrahim Zadran and Joe Root reach the three-figure.
The stunning tons from the Afghanistan opener and England cricket team legend have ensured an all-time record in the tournament's history. While this is only the 8th match of the tournament and one was washed out due to rain, there have already been 11 centuries in the competition.

The incredible efforts for Root has seen the ongoing tournament achieve a historic all-time record. The 2025 now holds the record for the most centuries in a single edition and also the first instance of there being more than 10 tons in one Champions Trophy despite there still being seven matches including the knockout stages left in the competition

Seven of the eight participating teams in the 2025 Champions Trophy have seen centuries so far, with hosts Pakistan, the only team so far, who have not seen a player reach the three-figure mark. Although the Men in Green are knocked out of the tournament, they have the chance to get a centurion on the list in their last league stage match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on Thursday (February 27).
Two players each have scored a century for both India and England, with Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Ben Duckett, and Joe Root part of the elite list. Three New Zealand players have reached the three-figure mark after tons by Tom Latham and Will Young in the tournament opener against Pakistan, while Rachin Ravindra got the milestone against Bangladesh.
Australia's Josh Inglis and Bangladesh batter Towhid Hridoy have also managed three-figure scores.
