Pakistan have had been on a horrific run in the Champions Trophy 2025. They have become one of the first two teams to be knocked out of the tournament, after two successive defeats to New Zealand and India in the group stages. They were officially knocked out after the Kiwis defeated Bangladesh. Now, the Men in Green have a chance to end theor campaign on a high when they take on Bangladesh in a dead rubber contest between the two teams who have officially exited from the tournament. In this game, which is being held in Rawalpindi on February 27 (Thursday), Pakistan are on the verge of creating a pretty embarrassing record.
Pakistan are the defending champions having won the Champions Trophy in 2017. However, if they lose to Bangladesh, then they will become the first defending champions to exit from the competition after losing all three matches of their group stage campaign without registering a single point.
2009 Champions Trophy winners Australia exited from the 2013 edition without winning a single game too. However, one of their three matches was washed out. Hence, they finished with 1 point.
Pakistan will also become the second host team to exit the Champions Trophy 2025 without registering a single win on the board. In the 2000 edition of the tournament, Kenya became the first host nation to be knocked out without a single win.

Pakistan Repeat EMBARRASSING Feat After 16 Years

Pakistan become the second team in history to be knocked out of the Champions Trophy as host nations. South Africa were the last team to have done so, having finished bottom of their group in the 2009 edition of the tournament.
Pakistan also have become the fourth team in history to enter the Champions Trophy as defending champions and be knocked out of the tournament from the group stages. India, Sri Lanka (2002) and Australia (2013) were the other teams to achieve this embarrassing feat.
