Jofra Archer created history during the England vs Afghanistan match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday. This was after he broke James Anderson's record to become the fastest England player to 50 ODI wickets.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz was Archer's 50th ODI wicket as the Englishman gave England the start they needed. With three new ball wickets, Archer set the tone as none of the Afghan batters seemed to have any answer to his pace.
The fastest bowler to take 50 ODI wickets is former Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis, who did it in just 19 matches. Sandeep Lamichhane from Nepal reached this milestone in 22 games. Ajit Agarkar from India and Mitchell McClenaghan from New Zealand both took 23 matches to achieve the same.
