Pakistan have had a horrific campaign at home in the Champions Trophy 2025. They became one of the first two teams to be knocked out of the tournament, in just 5 days, after they lost their opening two games against New Zealand and India. Even though the tournament is being held at their home, they had to travel to Dubai to take on India, who are playing all their matches there, as they refused to travel to Pakistan owing to security issues. The head coach of the Pakistan team, Aaqib Javed has now taken a dig at Team India for playing their matches in Dubai.
In the press conference ahead of their final Champions Trophy 2025 match against Bangladesh on Thursday (February 27), Aaqib Javed said that India are definitely getting an advantage because of playing all their matches in Dubai. They are playing in one ground and staying in one hotel. However, he said that Pakistan did not lose to India because of this advantage.
"See, they are in Dubai for a reason. They are playing only in Dubai because of a specific reason. Definitely, playing in one ground, staying in one hotel is an advantage. But we didn't lose because of that. It was not like they played 10 matches before we came there," Javed said.
Virat Kohli Century Powers India To Thumping Win Vs Pakistan
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first vs India in the Champions Trophy 2025 match on February 23 (Sunday). The PAK batters never looked in good touch as India bundled them out for 241 runs. Saud Shakeel scored a half-century, while Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball picking up 3 wickets.
India easily chased down the target with more than 6 overs to spare, and 6 wickets remaining. VIrat Kohli was the star of the show as he slammed his 51st ODI century. Shreyas Iyer also lent able support with a well-made half-century.
