Babar Azam OUT, 3 Players IN; No Shaheen Afridi: Pakistan's Likely XI For Champions Trophy Match v Bangladesh (Source: AP)

Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in their last game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The match is a dead rubber as Pakistan are already out of the tournament following defeats to New Zealand and India. The team lost the first game to New Zealand by 60 runs which was followed by a six-wicket defeat to arch-rivals India. The defeats invited heavy criticism for the Men in Green, and they'd like to finish the tournament on a high to avoid further embarrassment. The shambolic show could well mark the decline of many big names in Pakistan cricket who have not been performing well for a long time, including Babar Azam. Known to react weirdly in panic, there is a big chance that Pakistan drop Babar Azam from the XI for the Bangladesh clash. There could be a few other changes to the XI as well.
Kamran Ghulam could be used as an opener along with Usman Khan, with Babar and Imam ul Haq making way. Saud Shakeel should bat at three, followed by Mohammad Rizwan at four. Salman Ali Agha should be the number five batter. Tayyab Tahir and Khushdil Shah should also retain their place in the XI.
There could be a change in the XI given the overcast conditions and the team could consider bringing in Faheem Ashraf in place of Khushdil Shah, even though Shah has done well as a batter in the tournament so far. Pakistan could also consider dropping Shaheen Afridi who has looked below par in the two matches and replace him with Mohammad Hasnain. Abrar Ahmed will be the lead spinner in the team.
Pakistan's Likely XI For Bangladesh Match: Usman Khan, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Agha, Tayyab Tahir, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Abrar Ahmed.
