Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar lashed out at Babar Azam for a poor outing against India and called him a 'fraud'. Babar was dismissed for 23 in 26 balls by Hardik Pandya. Babar Azam has been going through a poor run in international cricket. Akhtar, furious at Pakistan's defeat to India, lashed out at Babar's comparison with Virat Kohli and said Kohli has a legacy while Babar is a fraud. He slammed Babar for picking the wrong role model, taking a dig at his slow batting approach.

“We always compare Babar Azam to Virat Kohli. Now tell me who is hero of Virat Kohli? Sachin Tendulkar and he has scored 100 centuries and Virat is chasing his legacy,” Akhtar said on the show “Game On Hai”. “Who is Babar Azam’s hero? Tuk tuk (no mention of cricketer he is referring to),” he added.

"You have picked the wrong heroes. Your thought process is wrong. You were a fraud from the beginning. I would not even wish to talk about the Pakistan cricket team. I am only doing this because I am getting paid."

At the same time, Akhtar was in awe of India star Virat Kohli, who scored his 51st ODI hundred and helped the team win the game by six wickets. “We have seen this in the past. When you tell Virat Kohli that he has to play against Pakistan, he will score a century. Hats off to him, he’s like a superstar! He’s a white ball run chaser! Modern-day great! No doubt about him. I’m very happy for him. He deserves all the praise,” Akhtar said.

Pakistan suffered a six-wicket defeat to India in their second game. The defeat was Pakistan's second in two games and almost knocked them out of the semifinal race. If New Zealand beat Pakistan on Monday, they'll be officially out of the tournament.
