Virat Kohli smashed a match-winning century against Pakistan to take India to the top spot in the 2025 Champions Trophy points table. Virat was 4 runs away from the three-figure mark when India needed 2 runs to win. The former India captain stepped out and hit a boundary to slam the 51st century of his ODI career.
Virat went past Sachin Tendulkar and became the first batsman to score 50 ODI centuries during the 2023 World Cup. He is now on the cusp of overtaking Sachin in another list.
Virat is just one century away from becoming the first batsman in the world to hit 52 centuries in a format. Presently, the record for most centuries in a format jointly belongs to Virat and Sachin. Virat has 51 tons in ODIs while the Master Blaster finished his Test career with 51 tons. Virat will go past the ICC Hall of Famer when he scores his 52nd ODI ton.
Rohit Sharma and Glenn Maxwell share the top spot in T20Is. Both the batsmen have 5 centuries each. Rohit retired from T20I cricket after leading India to a title win in the 2024 World Cup. With 4 tons, Suryakumar Yadav sits at the second position. Virat scored one century in T20I cricket while Sachin only played one T20I game.
India near to semi-final
India are at the top spot in the points table and they have all but qualified for the semi-final. The Men in Blue have won both their matches and they have 4 points in their account.
The Rohit Sharma-led side kicked off its campaign with a win over Bangladesh. Shubman Gill slammed a century in the victory. Virat, who failed to convert his start into a big knock, shone in the second game and slammed a match-winning century. India will face New Zealand in their last league stage game on March 2.
