Shikhar Dhawan made his return to Team India's dressing room after the Men in Blue defeated Pakistan in the league stage game of the 2025 Champions Trophy. Known as Mr. ICC, Dhawan was called in the dressing room by the Indian team management to present the Fielder of the Match award.
India's fielding coach, T Dilip praised the players for their fielding efforts and announced that Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja and Shreyas Iyer were three contenders for the top medal. Axar pipped his teammates to win the medal.
A complete package on the field, Axar was involved in two run-outs and pouched two catches. He provided India with a breakthrough by running out Imam-ul-Haq for 10 runs. He also contributed with the ball and dismissed Mohammad Rizwan for 46. Pakistan managed to score 241 in 49.4 overs. India rode on Virat Kohli's ton to complete the chase in 42.3 overs.

Shikhar Dhawan is called Mr. ICC for his knack for scoring heavily in ICC events. He played his first ICC event in 2013. Dhawan had a memorable run in the 2013 Champions Trophy and he piled up 363 runs in 5 matches. India defeated England in the final to win the trophy for the first time.
Dhawan also shone in the 2015 ODI World Cup and scored the most runs (412) for India. India lost to Australia in the semi-final. Dhawan came out of his below-par form in the 2017 Champions Trophy by topping the run-scoring charts once again. The former India opener piled up 338 runs in 5 matches.
Dhawan scored 125 runs in 2 matches in the 2019 ODI World Cup. He got injured en route to his century against Australia. He didn't play an ICC event after 2019. The veteran batsman retired from international cricket in August 2024. He is in Dubai for commentary duties.
