India picked up a comprehensive win over Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match at the Dubai International Stadium. Like many previous instances, the match didn't live up to the expectations for a blockbuster as India crushed Pakistan in a one-sided affair. There wasn't much to celebrate for Pakistan fans as their team didn't show any fight, however, the passionate cricket fans found joy in Virat Kohli's century, showing their love for batting maestro.
Chasing a target of 242, the fans were treated to vintage Kohli who scored a magnificent 51st hundred to help India win by six wickets. It's no secret that Virat Kohli enjoys a massive fan following in Pakistan and it was visible when the fans in Pakistan erupted in joy as soon as the India great reached the century. Kohli's 100th run meant that Pakistan suffered a defeat but the Pakistan fans were happy to see the positive side and cheered for Kohli.

Virat Kohli's Love Affair with Pakistan

Virat Kohli broke a plethora of records en route to his brilliant hundred. The India great became the first player in the world to score 400 or more runs against Pakistan in ICC ODI events. He leapfrogged Rohit Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar who scored 370 and 321 runs respectively.
Meanwhile, with a hundred in the Champions Trophy, Kohli now has scored hundreds against Pakistan in three different multi-national events of five teams or more. He previously scored a hundred in the 2015 ODI World Cup and 2012 and 2023 Asia Cup, thus becoming the first player in the world to have scored a century against same opponent in three different multi-team events. Kohli was given the Player of the Match (POTM) award for his stunning knock. This was Kohli's fifth POTM award against Pakistan in ICC events. No other player has more than three POTMs against one team in ICC events.
