Kohli made an unbeaten knock of 100 in 111 balls as the Men in Blue sealed a five-wicket win with 45 balls to spare. India have won two matches in a row. The result has also pushed Pakistan to the brink of elimination from the tournament after the hosts lost two games in a row.

Through the course of the innings, Kohli broke Rohit Shamra's record for the most runs against Pakistan in ICC ODI events. While Rohit made 20 runs in 15 balls after an unplayable delivery from Shaheen Afridi ended his innings. With centuries against Pakistan in the World Cup, Champions Trophy, and Asia Cup; Kohli is the first player in history to have a century against the same opponent in three different multi-team events of five or more teams. The former India captain scored a ton against the Men in Green in the 2012 and 2023 Asia Cups.
Kohli won the Player of the Match (POTM) award for the fifth team against Pakistan in an ICC tournament match. No other player has won the POTM award more than three times against the same opponent in any ICC-organised tournament.
This was also Kohli's first Champions Trophy century after making five 50+ scores. The 36-year-old made his debut in the competition against Pakistan in 2009 and is the only active player who has played five different editions. Overall, Kohli has 651 runs in 14 innings in the tournament at an average of 93.00. No other player has more than 300 runs at an average above 80 in Champions Trophy history.
As things stand, the former India captain is the 7th highest run-getter in the tournament's 26-year-old history and needs just 141 runs to go top of the list.
Kohli also completed 14,000 ODI runs and set the world record for being the quickest to the milestone and is only the third player after Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara to reach the elusive mark.
Kohli has also become only the second player to score 51 runs in one format of the game after Tendulkar, who scored the same number in Test cricket.
