The wait is almost over for the blockbuster India vs Pakistan clash in the ICC Champions Trophy. The arch-rivals are set to cross swords at the Dubai International Stadium on February 23. Both teams had contrasting outings in their opening clash, with India picking a comprehensive six-wicket win over Bangladesh and Pakistan suffering a 60-run thrashing to New Zealand.
This is a must-win game for Pakistan as a defeat would almost knock them out of the tournament. Historically, Pakistan hasn't fared well against India in ICC events, but they can take heart from the fact that they beat India at the Dubai International Stadium in the previous two outings. However, both of Pakistan's wins came in the T20 format. The first win was Pakistan's famous 10-wicket drubbing during the T20 World Cup 2021 while the Men in Green also defeated the Rohit Sharma-led side in the Asia Cup 2022.
Pakistan holds an edge over India in matches played in the UAE. In the 28 matches played in UAE, Pakistan fetched wins in 19 games while India managed to win nine matches. However, when it comes to ODI matches played at Dubai International Stadium, India have a clean sheet over Pakistan.
