India are all set to take on Pakistan in a a mega clash in the Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on February 23 (Sunday). The Men in Blue come into the game on the back of a huge 6-wicket win against Bangladesh. The two players who were the stars for India in this victory were Mohammed Shami and Shubman Gill. In an interaction with India Today, Sourav Ganguly said that the Indian spinners will play a crucial part in the match against Pakistan. This is because the Dubai pitch will be a turner, and Pakistan do not play spin very well. India played three spinners against Bangladesh- Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. Ganguly said that he expects India to go with the same combination.
"India are not just favourites against Pakistan but for me, they are favourites for this tournament. It won't be easy for Pakistan. The spinners will also play a crucial part. I think India will go with the same (bowling) combination," Ganguly said.
On the wicket in Dubai, they will need spinners. I presume this Dubai pitch will turn a bit, and Pakistan doesn’t play spin very well. India has quality spinners," the former India captain added added.
