Fakhar Zaman Breaks Down In Tears After ICC Champions Trophy Setback, Emotional Video Goes Viral: Watch (Source: X)

Pakistan's ICC Champions Trophy campaign got off to the worst possible start as they suffered a 60-run defeat to New Zealand in the opening game. The defeat was not the only blow Pakistan suffered in the match as their game-changer Fakhar Zaman picked up an injury and was ruled out of the remainder of the tournament. Fakhar was injured on the second ball of the match and was out of the field for most of the New Zealand innings. He wasn't allowed to open the innings and only came to bat after the fall of the second wicket - Mohammad Rizwan.
Zaman showed great determination to fight it out but he was in searing pain and wasn't able to rotate strike. He was dismissed for 24 runs in 41 balls. Zaman broke down in tears as he walked out of the ground after being dismissed. Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi tried to console the batter but he was heartbroken. The video of the same was shared by ICC on social media and it has now gone viral.

Imam Ul Haq Joins Pakistan Squad

Meanwhile, the reports confirmed that Zaman picked up an oblique injury and won't be able to take further part in the tournament. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) named Imam ul Haq as a replacement. Zaman was drafted back in the Pakistan squad after being axed from the tours to South Africa and Australia following a tweet on Babar Azam's snub from the Pakistan Test squad vs England.
Pakistan will play their next game against India at the Dubai International Stadium. The Men in Green will have to beat India to stay alive in the tournament. A defeat for Pakistan would mean they will have to beat Bangladesh and then hope that India and Bangladesh beat New Zealand which will be too much of a stuff to fall in place.
