Towhid Hridoy Creates History With Heroic Hundred In ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Towhid Hridoy, the Bangladesh middle-order batter, showed his class and temperament when he smashed his maiden ODI hundred against India in Dubai on Thursday. Batting under immense pressure, the 24-year-old sensation truly impressed everyone with his fearless batting.
With the Tigers tottering at 35/5, Hridoy showed tremendous fight. Soon enough, after his fifty, he picked up the pace to help the Tigers reach a respectable total.
Despite suffering from cramps, Hridoy crafted his innings with meticulous precision and brought up his hundred to become the ninth player to score a ton in his debut innings in the Champions Trophy.
It was also the second for Bangladesh after Tamim Iqbal (128 vs Eng The Oval 2017).
It was the second time a non-opener had reached the three-figure mark in the Champions Trophy, after India's Mohd Kaif (111* vs Zim Colombo RPS 2002).
Hridoy also became only the second player to score a hundred batting at number five for Bangladesh after Shakib Al Hasan.
However, the right-hander also had the fortune when he was grassed by Hardik Pandya at mid-off off Kuldeep Yadav when he was on 23.
KL Rahul, who was sharp behind the stumps, floored a stumping chance to give the second reprieve for Hridoy. Indian fielders were also sloppy in the middle passage, allowing the Bangladesh batters to steadily collect singles and twos to ease some pressure.
Maintaining a steady composure, Hridoy reached the milestone in 114 balls.
