India began their campaign in the Champions Trophy 2025 on a high as they defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in their first match of the tournament at the Dubai International Stadium. The Men in Blue next take on Pakistan in a blockbuster encounter on Sunday (February 23). They would now look to continue their winning streak against their arch-rivals as well, and make their patch to the semi-final of the tournament even smoother. For that, India need to field their best playing XI against Pakistan.

No Change In Batting Order

India might not make any change to their batting order in the match against Pakistan. Shubman Gill will open the batting alongside Rohit Sharma. Gill is currently the most in-form batter in the Indian lineup, having scored two back-to-back centuries in ODIs. Virat Kohli will come in to bat at no.3. He needs 15 runs more to become the fastest batter in history to score 14,000 runs in ODIs.
Shreyas Iyer will continue to bat at no.4. KL Rahul might come up the order at no.5, with Axar Patel dropping down to 6. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja will bat at no.7 and 8 respectively

Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana OUT

India might make two changes in their bowling lineup. Kuldeep Yadav did not look at his best against Bangladesh, as he failed to take a single wicket in his 10 overs. Hence, India might be tempted to drop him against Pakistan and go with Varun Chakravarthy. He has been in good form and might come in handy with hus mystery spin on a turning track in Dubai.
Harshit Rana might also be dropped from the playing XI, with Arshdeep Singh coming in to provide variety with his left-arm pace. He will partner with Mohammed Shami in the pace bowling department.
