India and Bangladesh are locking horns in their first match of the 2025 Champions Trophy. Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first at the Dubai International Stadium. Rohit Sharma wanted to bowl first. It was the 11th consecutive time when India lost the toss in ODIs.
It saw India create a unique record. India now hold the joint record for losing most consecutive tosses in ODIs. They share the top spot with the Netherlands. India's 'toss losing' streak kicked off at the 2023 ODI World Cup final. Australia defeated India in the final to lift the title.
India lost all tosses in the three-match ODI series against South Africa. KL Rahul captained the team in the 50-over matches. Rohit failed to win a toss in all three ODIs against Sri Lanka in 2024. India lost all the tosses in the England series as well.
While India lost the ODI series against Sri Lanka, they whitewashed England in the home series. India won the three-match ODI series against SA 2-1.
India vs Bangladesh Champions Trophy match
India made a dream start against Bangladesh and scalped 2 early wickets. Mohammed Shami provided a breakthrough to India in the very first over. Harshit Rana also took a wicket in his first over. Bangladesh are in a big trouble and they need their middle-order to play big.
Hardik Pandya is the third pacer in India's playing XI while Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are two spin-bowling all-rounders. Kuldeep Yadav is another spinner in the final XI.
