Hriody and Jaker's stand is also the highest sixth-wicket stand against India in ODI Cricket history. The same record was preivously held by Sri Lankan pair of Russel Arnold and Marven Atapattu, who put up 133 runs during an ODI match in 2005 at Vadodara.
Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner's 162-run stand for the 7th wicket in Hyderabad (2023) is the only sixth wicket or below partnership higher than Hridoy and Jaker's effort against India in ODI cricket history. The previous second highest also belonged to a Bangladesh pair with Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who put up a 148-run stand for the 7th wicket against India in an ODI game in Mirpur in 2022.
Hridoy and Jaker's partnership is the joint-third highest alongside Daren Sammy-Lendl Simmons (154 runs in West vs Ireland in 2015 World Cupfor 6th wicket) for sixth wicket or below in an ICC ODI event in history behind Pat Cummins-Glenn Maxwell (202 runs for 7th wicket in Australia vs Afghanistan, 2023 World Cup), Alex Cusack-Kevin O' Brien (162 runs In Ireland vs England for 6th wicket in 2011 World Cup), and Maurice Omondi Odumbe and Alpesh Vadher ( 161 runs in Kendy vs Sri Lanka for 6th wicket in 1999 World Cup).
This is also the highest 6th wicket stand for Bangladesh in ODI cricket history. Incidentally, Jaker also featured in teh previous best stand, when he put up a 150-run stand with Mahmudullah against West Indies in December last year at St. Kitts. There has been only one Bangladesh pair to put a higher partnership for the sixth wicket or below in ODIs (Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 174 runs for 7th wicket vs Afghanistan, Chattogram in 2022).
The partnership did have some stroke of luck as Jaker was dropped by Rohit Sharma on the first ball of his innings from a Axar Patel delivery. Hridoy a second life after Hardik Pandya dropped his catch while he was batting on 23 in the 20th over of the innings during Kuldeep Yadav's first over of the evening. Jaker got another reprieve in the 23rd over, while batting as Ravindra Jadeja decieved him but KL Rahul missed a stumping. He was batting at 24 at that time.
