The Champions Trophy 2025 has begun amid much fervour with hosts Pakistan taking on New Zealand in the first match of the tournament at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. Pakistan have won the toss and opted to bowl, and they have selected just one specialist spinner in their lineup in the form of Abrar Ahmed. The off-spinner made instant impact on the game, as he gave the Men in Green their first breakthrough. He removed the dangerous Devon Conway before he could score big runs.
Abrar Ahmed took the first wicket of the Champions Trophu 2025, when he bowled an absolute ripper of a delivery to rattle the stumps of Devon Conway. Abrar bowled a carrom ball that did not turn very much, and hit the off-stump. It was almost like an in-swinger from a medium pacer. Conway could only manage to score just 10 runs from 17 balls.

Will Young Slams Century Vs Pakistan
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. devon Conway and Will Young gave the Kiwis a decent start putting up 39 runs for the first wicket. Abrar Ahmed then struck with the wicket of Conway. Naseem Shah then continued the wicket-taking spree for Pakistan, as he got rid of the dangerous Kane Williamson for just 1 run. Haris Rauf then dismissed Devon Conway for just 10 runs.
Will Young and Tom Latham took hold of the New Zealand innings after than and built a 118-run stand. Young was the star of the show as he slammed 107 runs, the highest individual score by any batter against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. Naseem Shah was the batter who dismissed Young.
