Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will usher in a new era when they face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on the opening night of the 2025 Indian Premier League at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22. The blockbuster tournament opener will mark the first match for the franchise under Rajat Patidar's franchise.
The Virat Kohli-starrer franchise will travel to Chennai to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the southern derby in their second match on March 28 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The Bengaluru-based franchise will host CSK and KKR at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in the reverse fixture on May 3 and 17, respectively.
RCB is placed in Group A with KKR, CSK, Rajasthan Royals, and Punjab Kings. They will face all four teams twice in the league. From Group B, the Patidar-led outfit will go head-to-head with Delhi Capitals home and away, while they will have just one match against Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Lucknow Super Giants.

Ahead of the 2025 mega auction, RCB retained just three players which included only two capped players. Virat Kohli (Rs. 21 crore), Rajat Patidar (Rs. 11 crore), and Yash Dayal (Rs. 5 crore) re-signed with the team. At the auction, Josh Hazlewood (Rs. 12.5 Crore), Phil Salt (Rs. 11.5 crore), Jitesh Sharma (Rs. 11 crore), and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Rs. 11 crore) were RCB's biggest signings.
