Delhi Capitals (DC) will not play all their 2025 Indian Premier League at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi for a second straight season. The Capitals are set to play two matches away from home in the 18th edition of the tournament which is expected to begin on March 22.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam will host the first two home games of the franchise in the 2025 season. This will be a similar arrangement to last season where the franchise took the decision to shift their opening matches outside the city due to the 2024 Women's Premier League (WPL) final taking place at the iconic venue just five days before the first match of the 2024 IPL.
While no WPL matches are scheduled to take place in Delhi this time around, DC has still decided to host two games in Vizag.
DC will be one of three teams once again to have two home venues in the 2025 IPL alongside Punjab Kings (Mullanpur, Dharamshala) and Rajasthan Royals (Jaipur, Guwahati).
Although, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are yet to announce the schedule of the 2025 IPL, it is expected to be released soon.
Reports have suggested a blockbuster clash between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Eden Gardens will kickstart the season. The final will also take place in the City of Joy On May 25.
