India are all set to begin their campaign in the Champions Trophy 2025 on February 20 against Bangladesh. Rohit Sharma will be looking to lead the team to their record third triumph of the tournament, and the first since the 2013 Champions Trophy win under MS Dhoni. Rohit himself will also be ginning to become only the second captain after Dhoni to lead India to multiple ICC trophy glories. The Indian captain would also be looking to have a great tournament with the bat as he is chasing to become the first player in the world to achieve a unique feat.
India will be playing all their matches in Dubai, while the rest of the tournament will be played in Pakistan. Rohit Sharma currently has 317 runs in Dubai, and has the chance to bat in as many as 5 matches at the venue in the Champions Trophy 2025. If he scores 183 more runs in the tournament, then Rohit will become the first batter in the world to score 500 ODI runs in Dubai.
Scotland's Richie Berrington holds the record for being the batter with the most ODI runs in Dubai (424), while Shikhar Dhawan is the Indian batter with the most runs at the venue (342).

Rohit Sharma's Last ICC Tournament?

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, former India opener Aakash Chopra predicted that the Champions Trophy 2025 could be the last ICC event for the trio of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. he next ICC event that India will be part of is the T20 World Cup 2026, and since the trio have retired from T20Is, the next event that they can be a part of is the ODI World Cup 2027. Chopra reckoned that the three superstars might not be playing the time the tournament kicks off two years later.
"I am saying with a heavy heart... There is a strong possibility. The Champions Trophy is about to happen and after that, there will be another ICC event this year, which is the WTC (World Test Championship) final and we haven't reached there. So none among Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja will play that," Aakash Chopra said.
