
EXPLAINED: How Much Prize Money Can India Earn If They Win Champions Trophy 2025?

India are all set to start their campaign to win their second ICC trophy in less than a year when they step in to the field for the Champions Trophy 2025 against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai. India will not only clinch their record third title if they win the tournament, but will also pocket a massive amount as prize money. This is because the ICC have announced a massive increase in their prize money for the tournament which is taking place for the first time since 2017.
The ICC have announced a whopping prize money of Rs $2.24 million which amounts to Rs 186.67 crore INR). The runners-up will get $1.12 million (Rs 93.34 crore), while the semi-finalists will receive $560,000 (46.67 crore) each. Teams who will finish fifth and sixth will receive $350,000 (29.17 crore). The teams who will end their campaign as seventh and eighth will receive $140,000 (11.67 crore). Apart from this, all teams who will feature in the mega event will receive $125,000 as participation money. In addition teams will also receive $34,000 for each win in th group stage of the tournament.
The prize money pool has increased by a massive 53% since the last time the Champions Trophy was held in 2017.

"Beyond the financial incentive, this tournament ignites fierce competition, captivates fans worldwide, and plays a vital role in fostering the growth and long-term sustainability of cricket for future generations,"he added.
