Pitch Invaders' Gutsy Plea To Virat Kohli During Security Breach At Arun Jaitley Stadium Revealed! (Source: IANS)

Delhi off-spinner Shivam Sharma opened up on the security breach on Day 3 of the Arun Jaitley Stadium where three fans entered the stadium to meet Virat Kohli. The creaze for Virat Kohli was at its peak during the Ranji game as fans flocked in large numbers to watch Virat Kohli play. One of the fans breached the security on Day 1 to meet Kohli and the same happened on Day 3 when three fans crossed the boundaries to touch Kohli's feet before being taken away by the security officers.
Shivam linked the breach to Virat Kohli's craze among the fans but said that incidents such as these should not happen. He also revealed that the intruders requested Virat Kohli to ask the security officers to not beat them.
“This is Virat's craze, but at the same time it was not right for them to run inside the ground. No, Virat bhaiya didn't say anything specific, but yes, anything could have happened if they brought anything with them. Those three people had just requested to Virat that they should not be beaten up. So, those three people were just taken away and nothing was done to them,” he said to reporters after the match ended.
Virat Kohli, who last played Ranji Trophy in 2012, made a return to domestic cricket after the BCCI mandated all players to play domestic cricket. The directive was issued following a poor outing in Australia where the team suffered a 3-1 defeat in the Border-Gavaskaar Trophy. Virat's comeback wasn't a great one though as he was dismissed for just six runs in the first innings.
Meanwhile, Delhi defeated Railways by an innings and 9 runs. Shivam was the star with the ball in the second innings as he bagged five wickets as Railways were bowled out for 241.
