Just 21 days into the new year, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcarez will go head-to-head in one of the biggest Tennis matches of 2025 at the Rod Laver Arena in the men's singles quarter-final of the 2025 Australian Open on Tuesday (January 20) in a blockbuster clash.
While Djokovic is the most decorated men's tennis player of all time, Alcaraz is fast moving towards establishing himself as a legend of the sport. At the age of 21, Alcaraz will complete the career grand slam if he manages to win the Australian Open this year. Alcaraz won the US Open in 2022, French Open in 2024, and the Wimbledon in 2023 and 2024
Meanwhile, Djokovic is looking to create history with a historic 25th Grand Slam title and become the first male singles player to achieve the feat. The Serbian is the only player in history to win the Australian Open 10 times and is eyeing a record-extending 11th title.
In the last few years, Djokovic and Alcaraz have built a strong rivalry after the Spaniard beat the legendary Serbian player in both the 2023 and 2024 Wimbledon finals. However, Djokovic beat Alcaraz in the Paris Olympics gold medal clash.
