India are all set to begin their quest for their second ICC trophy win in a season when they kick off their campaign for the Champions Trophy 2025 on February 20 against Bangladesh. The Men in Blue have named their squad for the mega tournament and the 15-man squad does not have any major surprises. However, many players were not selected, including Mohammed Siraj, who has been a regular in ODIs for India.
After being dropped from the squad, Mohammed Siraj has now posted a cryptic message on his social media. The star fast bowler from Hyderabad shared a picture of him working out in his Instagram story. He captioned the picture with a three-word message, "Reset, Refocus, Restart." This states Siraj's intentions to rework himself and come back into the India squad.

Rohit Sharma Explains Why Mohammed Siraj Had To Miss Out
In the press conference where the squad was announced, Rohit Sharma said that they only wanted three seamers, and it was unfortunate that Mohammed Siraj had to miss out. The Indian captain said they wanted bowlers who can bowl with the new ball, and also be effective in the middle overs and back end. He said that Siraj is not as effective with the old ball.
“We only wanted three seamers. Unfortunately, he (Siraj) has to miss out. Siraj’s effectiveness comes down when not bowling with the new ball. We have no option but we wanted guys for specific roles. We wanted guys who could bowl with the new ball, and be effective in the middle overs and at the back end. With these three boys (Shami, Harshit and Arshdeep) we can do that," the Indian captain said.
