Ravindra Jadeja OUT, T20 World Cup Winner IN: Ex-Opener Names Ideal India Squad For Champions Trophy 2025

India are all set to begin their campaign for the Champions Trophy 2025 on February 20. They have announced their squad for the mega tournament. and there have been hardly any surprises. There were rumours that Ravindra Jadeja might lose his place in the squad, as he had not played any white-ball cricket for India since the T20 World Cup 2024. However, when the squad was announced it was revealed that the veteran all-rounder was included. Former India opener Aakash Chopra said Jadeja should not have been part of the squad.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said that Mohammed Siraj should have been part of the India squad for the Champions Trophy in place of Ravindra Jadeja. Chopra also disagreed with India's decision of picking three spin bowling all-rounders namely Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar.
"In my opinion, Mohammed Siraj should have been a part of this team and I will even tell in whose place he should have been there. The team has two left-arm spinners and one off-spinner. You could have dropped one of the three. If you wished, you could have left out Ravindra Jadeja and kept Mohammed Siraj in his place," Chopra said.

Aakash Chopra also opined that Ravindra Jadeja might not feature in the playing XI for the Champions Trophy 2025 at all. Instead, Mohammed Siraj would have had greater value and had better chances of playing in the tournament.
"You could have done that because I feel Siraj would have had greater value. He would have been used more. He would have contributed more to the team and I see fewer chances of Jadeja playing. Honestly speaking, he might not play at all. So if Jadeja is not going to play, you would have had a player who would have had greater chances of playing," the former India opener added.
