Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Tushar Deshpande followed the path of Jasprit Bumrah as he quashed media reports of his injuries. There were reports that the former CSK fast bowler is expected to be on the sidelines for a prolonged period.
Tushar had undergone ankle surgery in September last year and as per reports recurrence of the same injury would keep him out for a prolonged period of time. He was not expected to feature in the upcoming leg of the Ranji Trophy which starts on February 23.
But the 29-year-old has now taken to social media to rubbish all the media reports on his injuries. He posted on X, “FAKE NEWS!!!! UNACCEPTABLE and UNPROFESSIONAL to NOT authenticate the news before posting !! I look at it as a very cheap move to gain a few extra views on your page!”
Tushar was released by CSK ahead of the IPL 2025 auction and was picked up by the Royals for INR 6.5 crore. He burst into the scene in IPL 2023 when he led the CSK bowling lineup with 21 wickets followed by a 17 wicket haul in the next IPL campaign. He also marked his debut for India in Zimbabwe last year but since then injury has halted his progress.
Earlier Jasprit Bumrah also called out fake injury news as the 31 year old took to social media to post, "I know fake news is easy to spread but this made me laugh. Sources unreliable."
Bumrah didn’t appear in the second innings as India suffered a humiliating defeat in Sydney. The Indian fast bowler played a central role in India’s Border Gavaskar Trophy run and finished as the highest wicket-taker with 32 scalps in five matches. He is expected to be a part of the Indian squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
