India are all set to announce their Champions Trophy 2025 squad, as Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar are set to do so in a press conference in Mumbai on January 18 (Saturday). A lot of players will be in contention for selection in the mega tournament. One player who is making all the right noises just before the Champions Trophy 2025 is Karun Nair. The experienced batter has been in superb form for Vidarbha in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025, guiding the team to the final. It looks like he is set to be rewarded for his solid form.
According to a report by PTI, Karun Nair might be selected in the squad for the three-match ODI series against England which begins from February 6.
If Karun Nair does make his way into the squad for the England ODIs, he will make his first appearance for Team India after almost 8 years. He last played for India in a Test match against Australia in Dharamsala in March 2017.
Nair has slammed 752 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025, with 5 centuries and an astonishing average of 752. He has thus broken the record of being the captain to score the most number of runs in a single edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Dream Is Still Alive: Karun Nair

In an interaction with PTI, Karun Nair said that his dream to play for Team India is still alive, and he is hoping to make his third comeback.
"The dream is always to play for the country. So, yes, the dream is still alive. That's the reason we play this game, to play for your country. So, the one and only goal was to play for the country," Nair said,
"I think this is my third comeback (laughs). And I need to keep doing what I am doing at the moment. Keep scoring runs whenever I can in every single game that I play. That's the most that I can do. Everything else is not in my control," he added.
