Numerous leaks disrupted the Indian Cricket Team’s rhythm during the Border Gavaskar Trophy. India lost to Australia 3-1 in the five-match Test series and crashed out of the World Test Championship final.
Dressing room leaks emerged as a potent issue as a number of things were hovering around in the media. India’s on-field performance on the Australian soil wasn’t up to the mark. Added to that, there were reports that Sarfaraz Khan was held responsible by head coach Gautam Gambhir for leaking details to the media.
In a video shared on his YouTube channel Aakash Chopra lays up a plan for BCCI to stop the leaks. He proposed that BCCI should announce all their appointments as soon as possible to prevent the leaks. He cited the example of the news of Sitanshu Kotak being appointed as the batting coach of the Indian Cricket Team.
"The biggest news is that Sitanshu Kotak has become India's batting coach. He has been added to the coaching staff. The BCCI might announce it officially after some time. How does all this news come out? Why doesn't the BCCI announce it themselves? If you start telling proactively, these source-based news might end,"
"Sitanshu Kotak has been associated with the coaching setup for a long time. He has played against me as well and he used to score a lot of runs as well. He used to stop when someone moved close to the sight screen or in the dressing room. He had a unique playing style as well. He was a run-machine. He used to irritate the opposing team a lot with his idiosyncrasies."
The Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy is expected to be announced on Saturday in Mumbai.
