India are all set to begin their quest for a second ICC trophy less than a year after the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, when they take the field to participate in the Champions Trophy 2025. India have not yet announced their squad for the mega tournament. There are certain injury concerns on big players like Jasprit Bumra, who suffered back spasms during he fifth Test vs Australia. Another bog name who has been out of action due to injury is Kuldeep Yadav, who is the first-choice ODI spinner for India. It looks like there might be some good news regarding his potential comeback.
Kuldeep Yadav missed being in the squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after he was instructed to report to the NCA to fix his long-term issue on his left groin. Now, the star left-arm leg spinner is looking to make his return, as he dropped a subtle two-word hint on his social media.
In a video posted on his Instagram account, Kuldeep Yadav shared a video of him sweating it out and practicing ahead of the squad selection for the ODI series vs England and the Champions Trophy 2025. He shared the video with the caption, 'Locked In'.

Varun Chakravarthy In Radar If Kuldeep Is Not Fit

According to a report by The Indian Express, Kuldeep Yadav's participation in the Champions Trophy 2025 is not a 100% certainty. The spinner is still recovering from a sports hernia. For Kuldeep to be in contention, he has to feature in the three-match ODI series against England to prove his fitness. If Kuldeep does not make it into the squad, then the selectors are eying Varun Chakravarthy as the alternative.
Chakravarthy has been in sensational form for India in T20Is and is yet to make his debut in ODIs. However, the report states that if the selectors are not convinced with his ODI credentials, then they could also opt for Ravi Bishnoi.
