Kieron Pollard etched his name in the history books and became the second player after Chris Gayle to achieve a huge feat during an International League T20 (ILT20) 2025 match between MI Emirates and Desert Vipers on Thursday (January 16) at the Dubai International Stadium.
After the Vipers won the toss and chose to bowl first, Pollard helped the defending champions put up a respectable score of 159 on the board. After walking out to bat after the loss of skipper Nicholas Pooran in the 13th over, Pollard played a knock of 36 in 23 balls in a knock that included two boundaries and three sixes.
Kieron Pollard Creates History
Pollard's second six of the day on Lockie Ferguson's bowling on the first ball of the 19th over of the innings saw him complete 900 sixes in T20 cricket. The T20 cricket legend has become the only second player in history to complete the milestone after Chris Gayle. The top four players in the list with the most sixes in the shortest format of the game are from the West Indies.

Pollard is among the greatest players to play T20 cricket and was a key part of the
Mumbai Indians (MI) squad that won five Indian Premier League (IPL) titles. The West cricket legend has played 690 T20 matches and scored 13429 at a strike-rate of 150.38. He has also taken 326 wickets. The 37-year-old also was part of the West Indies squad that won the 2012 T20 World Cup.
Although Pollard retired from international cricket and the IPL in 2022, he has continued to play cricket in various other leagues in the world.
Talking about the match, MI Emirates lost the match by five wickets with five balls to spare.
